This discography of Jacob Obrecht builds on the work first published in Fanfare in November 1980. It has been refreshed from the original records and newly reformatted to match the Du Fay and Josquin des Prez discographies previously posted on this website. Additional entries, mainly those that lack timings and verses, were found in www.medieval.org/emfaq. compiled by Pierre-F. Roberge and Todd McComb. Michael Gray’s classical-discography.org has furnished many details.
Works are listed alphabetically in three groups: Masses, Motets and Songs. The recordings of each work are arranged chronologically, citing conductor, ensemble, date of recording if known, and timing if available; then the format of the recording (ac, 78, 45, 33, LP, 45LP, LP quad, MC, CD, SACD, DVD), the label, and the issue number(s). Each recorded performance is indicated, if known, as: with instruments (w/i), no instruments (n/i), or instrumental only. Album titles of mixed collections are added with CD disc/track number (t.) or LP side/band number (b.). Seven securely attributed Masses remain unrecorded. The first five recordings (through 1950) are numbered.
In the same series: discographies of composers and subjects ranging from the 12th to the 16th centuries.
